LSS has been caring for neighbors across Minnesota for 151 years. As the largest non-profit social service organization in Minnesota, LSS impacts the lives of 100,000 Minnesotans each year. That is one in every 65 people –individuals from all walks of life, at every phase of life, across the entire state in all 87 counties.

Together with the support and partnership of donors, church communities, advocates, volunteers, and partner organizations, LSS is able to offer community service in three core areas:

Children, Youth and Family: Ensuring that children have stable homes and nurturing families, and that youth who have experienced homelessness have a safe place and the skills needed to move on to a productive adulthood.

People with Disabilities: Empowering individuals to choose the design and delivery of the support and services they receive to live full, healthy lives in community.

Older Adults: Giving older adults opportunities to remain active in community life and to choose the services that support their independence, well-being and relationships.

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota relies on our neighbors to help us live out our mission of expressing the love of Christ for all people through service that inspires hope, changes lives and builds community.
